4ffCom has changed its legal form from GmbH (equivalent to “limited liability corporation”) to AG (Aktiengesellschaft; equivalent to “public limited company”) with immediate effect

After two years of consolidating our RF testing business with the development of our CTE testing solutions, this change in legal form is part of our planned expansion. The new legal form ensures a stable financial platform for our customers and simplifies co-operation models with interested partners.

Weightless SIG

Weightless provides the scope to realise tens of billions of connected devices worldwide overcoming the traditional problems associated with current wireless standards – capacity, cost, power consumption and coverage. The forecasted demand for this connectivity simply cannot be accommodated through existing technologies and this is stifling the growth of the machine to machine (M2M) market. In order to reach this potential a new standard is required – and that standard is called Weightless.

Weightless SIG Objectives

The purpose of the Weightless Special Interest Group (SIG) is to enable the design, production and deployment of Weightless terminal equipment and networks worldwide.

It will achieve this by:

  1. Finalising the Weightless air interface standard and making it available to members in a stable and unambiguous format.
  2. Enabling testing and type approval processes that will build confidence that terminals from multiple sources can communicate successfully with all networks.
  3. Maintaining the Weightless brand with associated trademarks and names.
  4. Marketing Weightless effectively to increase awareness and enhance the success of the standard.
  5. Managing the intellectual property rights (IPR) associated with the standard, providing IPR-free licenses for terminals and managing conflicts as necessary.
  6. Liaising with and influencing regulators, Governments and other standards bodies as appropriate.
